Research

Do your research. You will find many tips on the internet!.

Go to Yellow Pages Directory online and type in ‘Wedding Guide’.

Bridal Gown

Be careful of the length, uneven surfaces are not kind to long gowns.

Small Brides …heavy gowns will pull the bodice down.

Shoes

You will spend a lot of hours in the shoes that you choose! Standing, walking and dancing. Go for comfort!

Veil

Some brides wear the veil over their face for the entire ceremony. The traditional way is to have your father lift the veil for you at the beginning of the ceremony. This allows for everyone, including the photographer to see your lovely face.

Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids role at your wedding is to help you with your gown and veil. Watch out for those tight gowns that prevent them from bending!

Venues

Choose a venue that is convenient for everyone…good parking, easy access, good toilet facilities.  Give your guests a small map with their invitation and a mobile number to contact you if they need to.   The Ceremony and Reception Venues should be within an easy drive of each other.

 Flowers

Yellow flowers attract bees. Choose flowers that will last all day....through the ceremonly and into the reception. Dont forget to drof off the bridgroom's lapel flowers on the day.

Bridegroom & Groomsmen

Three piece suits are wonderful in Europe and cooler climates, however in Australia they are depressingly hot, especially in Summer. Reconsider the waistcoat...look for alternate, cooler options.

Make certain that the men ask the sales assistants rental assistants to help them to practice tying the neckties.  Young boys in bridal parties often become restless and the first item of clothing to go is the necktie’

Ensure that the flower on the lapel has a strong pin and that someone positions them correctly.

Lots of fresh mints for alcohol breath!

Father of the bride

Hire a nice suit for dad....he is an important part of the ceremony.

Water

A table with bottles of water for your guests will be appreciated.

Sense of humour

An absolute essential item on your wedding day!
