Marriage is an exciting time for all involved and it is always to be remembered that it is YOUR special day. It is important therefore that the ceremony composed is one that you both want. A Civil Marriage Celebrant has certain obligations under the Marriage Act 1961 and these will be explained to you at our first meeting. Other than that the contents of the marriage ceremony is totally your choice. Working together we can create a Ceremony that is either formal or relaxed, with words that reflect your thoughts and dreams for a future life together. I will supply you with samples of ceremonies and verses; however you are not obliged to use any of them. Additionally, you could mix and match parts of ceremonies to arrive at the most suitable ceremony for your particular requirements. It may well be that you are able to compose your complete ceremony and this is acceptable providing it complies with the obligations of the Marriage Celebrant under the Marriage Act. It’s great to involve your family and friends…they can do a reading…assist with lighting candles…sing a song, play a musical instrument. The sky is the limit!. Music adds that special touch; taped music with favourite songs & tunes, hired musicians, friends and family. At the completion of the ceremony you will be required to sign the Marriage Register and Marriage Certificates, together with two witnesses and the marriage Celebrant. You will be presented with your Marriage Certificate and a complimentary copy of your marriage ceremony. As your Celebrant I want to ensure that all the legal paperwork is taken care of and that your Ceremony is your special creation. Le me help you to create your special ceremony that is tailored to your individual taste. |
